Alexandra Gerritsen is President and COO at Artemis Institute for Clinical Research. She has developed five middle managers and in 2021 led Artemis to the highest revenue and EBITDA year ever, resulting in the sale of the company to Headlands Research.

Gerritsen has consistently prioritized an employee-first culture and removed standard silos and hierarchy in a traditional healthcare industry. During the Great Resignation, she came up with creative ways to retain employees – developing different levels on Clinical Operations Team, creating an Emerging Leaders program for employees interested in growing in the organization, and hosting two monthly Town Halls a month, keeping employees informed about the direction of the company. She has seen retention increase by 20% year-over-year and has championed two dozen internal promotions in the last year.

Gerritsen is also involved in Athena, an organization that fast tracks women in STEM through leadership development.
