DANIEL SHIRKEY

Sr. Director of Technology and Operations Balfour Beatty

Daniel Shirkey is Senior Director of Technology and Operations at Balfour Beatty, where he is devoted to advancing technology and processes within the company.

In his 14-year career with Balfour Beatty, Shirkey has supported the company’s largest and most complex projects, including the LAX Automated People Mover Project, valued in excess of $2 billion, and has been instrumental in applying the newest technologies to advance these projects.

Shirkey oversees the company’s Virtual Design & Construction and Scheduling Departments, supporting more than 70 active projects across California and 100 annual ongoing pursuits for new projects. He was a key contributor in creating the firm’s summer internship and college recruitment programs.

Shirkey is a part-time Lecturer at NewSchool of Architecture and Design, teaching Design and Construction Technology to Construction Management students. He also developed similar courses at SDSU.
