Program Manager San Diego Futures Foundation

Whitney Elizabeth Cottersmith is Program Manager with the San Diego Futures Foundation. She began her work as a Coordinator and has since turned into a monumental figure in the digital literacy program. During the pandemic, she was the only staff member on the program and ran several projects on her own. She managed a volunteer group and trained new team members all while trying to keep the programs running. Cottersmith is also the organization’s youngest lead. On a daily basis, she oversees different new projects, four team members and volunteers, and manages the organization’s database while developing newer ways to utilize the technology at hand to improve day-to-day program operations.

“I believe that everyone has the capacity to learn as long as they have the will to do so,” she said. “I live by ‘where there is a will there is a way.’
